Washington/New Delhi: US President Donald Trump on Tuesday called Prime Minister Narendra Modi to congratulate him on his 75th birthday. Trump praised PM Modi, calling him his ‘friend’ and thanked India for its support in ending the Russia-Ukraine war. This phone call is being considered an important step towards strengthening the relations between the two countries, especially when some tension was seen recently regarding trade and tariffs.
‘Had a good conversation with PM Modi on phone’
Trump wrote on his social media site Truth Social, ‘I had a good conversation on the phone with my friend Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I wished him a very happy birthday. He is doing a great job. Narendra, thank you for your support in ending the Russia-Ukraine war! – President DJT.’ Trump signed the post with his initials (Donald John Trump), reflecting the personal and friendly tone of the conversation.

Prime Minister Modi also thanked Trump for this call.
