‘I will leave the presidency as soon as the war with Russia ends’ Volodymyr Zelensky’s big statement.

I will leave the presidency : His goal is to end the war, not to remain in power. He said he will continue all efforts to establish peace in Ukraine.

Amid the ongoing fierce war with Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has made a surprising statement. Speaking to the Axios website, Ukrainian President Zelensky said he is ready to step down as president once the war is over. He further said that his aim is to end the war, not to remain in power.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he would continue to make every effort to establish peace in the country, believing that an end to the war would not only be a political solution but also a necessary step for the people’s freedom and future.

Russia has declared him an illegitimate president because his term has expired, but martial law, imposed during the war, prevents elections. Parliament has extended his term until the martial law ends.
