Trump said that he will always maintain his friendship with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but he is ‘disappointed’ with India’s decision to buy oil from Russia. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office of the White House on Friday, Trump said, “I will always be a friend of Modi. He is a wonderful Prime Minister. There is a special relationship between India and America. There is nothing to worry about. Sometimes such moments come.” ‘ This statement has come at a time when relations between the two countries are going through perhaps the most difficult phase in the last two decades. Trump, however, expressed his displeasure over India buying oil from Russia. He said, ‘I am very disappointed that India is buying so much oil from Russia. I have told them this. We have imposed a heavy tariff of 50 per cent on India.
