Gen-Z protesters demand resignation of Nepali PM Sushila Karki: Said- We made her sit, it will not take time to remove her; accused of selecting ministers without consultation.
Gen-Z protesters in Nepal have demanded the resignation of interim PM Sushila Karki. They are angry over the cabinet expansion. The protesters demonstrated and raised slogans outside the PM’s residence on Sunday night.They alleged that the interim government was selecting ministers without taking the opinion of the protesters. It was led by Sudan Gurung. Gurung threatened and said, “If we take to the streets again, no one will be able to stop us. We will throw you out of the chair you have been made to sit on”.
He also alleged that senior lawyer Om Prakash Aryal is interfering in the government. Gurung alleges that Aryal has decided to make himself the Home Minister. Om Prakash Aryal is considered close to Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah. PM Karki has appointed Om Prakash Aryal as Home and Law Minister, Rameswar Khanal as Finance Minister and Kulman Ghising as Energy Minister.
Gurung had announced the Gen-Z movement in Nepal.
Gurung, 36, had called for a massive protest in Kathmandu on September 8. He is the founder of an NGO called Hami Nepal.
